What’s the best way to start your day?

With the smell and taste of a good cup of coffee. If I have plenty of time in the morning, I’ll brew a whole pot. Otherwise, just a quick espresso with a splash of milk. I always add a bit of milk to my coffee — mostly because I’ve convinced myself it keeps my teeth from staining as quickly. So just a quick dash of milk in the cup.

What’s your go-to outfit when autumn arrives?

It always includes layers and mixed textures — like knitwear, denim, wool, crisp cotton, and leather. Being able to take take layer off or put them on: You know, a shirt under a knit, the knit off and tied around the waist, or worn as a scarf over a coat. Or the other way around — knit on, and the shirt tied like a belt at the waist, sleeves tucked into the belt loops. Mixing and matching across the wardrobe, without overthinking it — just doing it.

Your best styling tip for autumn?

Adding personal favorite accessories to the wardrobe — loafers, Converse, or great boots. Ties in every way except the traditional one: as a bow around the shirt collar, a small scarf under a knit, folded as a pocket square in a coat, tied to a bag or tote, and last but not least — as a belt with jeans.
